Marian Hayes

Cultural connections in the fields of writing, music, dance, drama, quilting and visual arts, have produced deep roots in the Chicago Arts scene. As quilt maker and poet for over twenty years, Hayes coupled the crafts and formed "Fabrications! Cultural Riches in Words and Stitches, a venue taught in schools, libraries and museums. As recent as 2004 Marian discovered another talent; drawing. Presently she is embarking on a journey of discovery; exploring the works of Henri Matisse and Frida Kahlo. Hayes future endeavors will be premised on events: cultural, social and personal that occurred the year she was born—1954.
