Ellyzabeth Adler is the Artistic Director of The Adler Danztheatre Project. She is a classically trained ballet dancer from the William Reilly Academy of Ballet in Milwaukee. She began studying acting while working on her BFA at Roosevelt University were she studied with Yolanda Lyon-Miller, Belinda Bremner, Bob Scoggin, and movement with Dawn Arnold, while continuing studying ballet, jazz and modern at Lou Conte Dance Studio. In the master's degree program at UIC she studied several different styles of theatre before becoming dedicated to creating danztheatre. She has taken workshops with the SITI Company, Goat Island, Moving Art (Köln, Germany), and with Mc Caleb Modern Dance Company. Adler has performed throughout Chicago, California, Europe and Canada and has created movement for several Chicago theatre companies such as Eclipse (Woman and Water & A Woman Without a Name) and Reverie (Cherry Orchard). Adler is also an accomplished costume designer and has worked with several Chicago companies including North Lakeside Players, The Gift, Pyewacket, Eclipse, and Frank Farrell. Adler also teaches for the company's outreach program, Kids Project, and with Pros Arts in grades K-8 dance, theatre and art.
